We know that journalism students and recent graduates have been unable to find work experience due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We have taken on interns and university students both individually and through Freelancing for Journalists and we wondered what more we could do to help facilitate this.
It suddenly dawned on us that there was a very simple solution and that was to set up a system to link aspiring journalists with freelance journalists for remote experience and mentoring.
Through our Journalism Work Experience Initiative, students/graduates sign up to a briefing for a small administration fee. Here they learn all about how the scheme operates, the type of work they may be doing, how to work alongside freelance journalists and making the most of that opportunity.
At the end of the webinar, registrants will be given access to the private database of work experience opportunities across the UK and beyond.

This scheme has been incredibly popular in the short time since its launch and the places have been filled. Our database is growing all the time and we are now doing another round which will launch in October 2021. If you’re a journalist willing to take part do please get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org. Students you can now sign up at our Ticket Tailor page.
